The VW Fun Cup powered by Hankook is without any doubt the longest running motorsport competition in the Benelux. For 25 years, the fast racing beetle has provided unforgettable moments to numerous amateur drivers, young talents and even professional star drivers who came to discover Kronos Events’ championship. This birthday should be celebrated in style!
One of many ways to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the VW Fun Cup is the great success of the Vintage category, reserved for the Evo1 version that started this wonderful adventure at the end of the last century. With his 'Go to 25' project, coordinator Eric De Hoe wants to offer a very interesting and nostalgic option for a driver to make his first steps in motorsport.
Of course, we won’t forget the battle at the front: once again top teams as DRM Motorsport, Milo Racing, AC Motorsport and DDK Racing will give the best of themselves with their fast and reliable Evo3, a car that can also be entered by less professional teams, in the hunt for the coveted titles. In this championship where equal means are used, the gaps are often minimal during the endurance races. Bring it on!
Finally, there is the Two-seater category, where passengers have the unique experience of sitting alongside an experienced driver during the race. An experience that definitely deserves a place on your bucket list...

The race tracks
A perfect mix for maximum fun
To become champion of the VW Fun Cup powered by Hankook, some tough hurdles have to be overcome. The Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps remains a great challenge at every lap, but the calendar for the 2022 season has a lot more to offer!
As usual, the campaign will both open and close in our own country. The Circuit Jules Tacheny de Mettet is the perfect place for the VW Fun Cup to give the starting shot. The final takes place six months later at Circuit Zolder. There are also trips abroad, starting with the brand new F1 circuit of Zandvoort. The Dutch circuit was given a facelift in early 2020, which was particularly popular with the teams and drivers of the VW Fun Cup, and a visit to the beach is a must.
Finally, two very different French venues are on the agenda. At the beginning of June, the teams head to the former F1 circuit of Magny-Cours, while the Circuit de l'Anneau du Rhin seems a lot more technical at first sight, but is quite fast and provides at least as much amusement as all the other circuits on the menu!
Variety, competition and... fun. This is the sumptuous menu that Kronos Events is offering you for 2022. So, join us and celebrate the 25th anniversary of the VW Fun Cup!
