A big return on the legendary 25 Hours VW Fun Cup is announced this year for CAP48. The RTBF solidarity operation had already shone on the longest race in the world between 2006 and 2011. It is back in force thanks to the team Kart 48, led by Maxime Berger, sports journalist at RTBF. A participation made possible thanks to the support of Volkswagen Belgium and Kronos Events, organizer of the race.
In 2016, Kart 48 was born in favor of CAP48. A sports-motor team composed of disabled drivers and celebrities engages in kart racing and cars with a goal of solidarity: raise funds for the benefit of disabled people!
For its third edition, the volunteer team Kart 48 aims to reap the sum of 15,000 euros, and this through a karting race and two car races. Namely, the 24h karting of Spa-Francorchamps (1-2 September), the 24h 2cv (6-7 October) and, to start the season, the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup (7-8 July)!
On this occasion, it is a special VW Fun Cup "CAP48" that will heat the asphalt of the magnificent layout of Spa-Francorchamps.
The car will be led by comedians Charlie Dupont and Stéphane De Groodt, pilot Ghislain de Mévius, disabled drivers Arnaud van Schevensteen (the first driver in the world to receive a racing license for a driver with reduced mobility) and Lionel Vandercam, as well as the RTBF moderator Jean-Louis Lahaye. Vanina Ickx will join the adventure if her schedule allows her after her famous climb to Pikes Peak.
All funds raised will fund field projects in the area of disability in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation! Join them on 7 and 8 July on the most beautiful circuit in the world!
